How to use a Righthand with Shopify
Prepare a reviewed order-line fulfillment exception list from approved Shopify inputs, with a worked example, complete brief, access checks, and reconciliation.
Quick answer
Use a Shopify order export to prepare a line-level exception list for the store operator. Keep payment state, fulfillment state, and item quantity distinct so the report does not turn an accepted order into a delivery claim.
Start with a order-line fulfillment exception list that the store fulfillment lead can check against the original records. Righthand prepares the review artifact; the source application remains the operational record.
Establish the input route
Shopify’s order CSV guide says additional line items can appear on separate rows with some order fields blank. It lists financial and fulfillment status separately. Official Shopify reference, checked October 6, 2026.
The store owner should export the relevant orders and supply the approved CSV. Record the store, export cutoff, and chosen filters. Remove addresses and contact details when the review needs only order IDs and SKU-level status.
Check the current integration directory and Righthand setup documentation. A listed app does not establish every read or write action. For a connected route, verify the assigned account, available operation, object scope, and one permitted sample read. This guide also works from an explicitly supplied, approved extract; it does not require an unverified native operation. Keep credentials out of the article brief.
Worked input and output
These three records are synthetic illustrations, not customer results or a hands-on integration test.
| Approved input | Proposed review output |
|---|---|
| Order S101: two rows, second has blank order fields | Associate the continuation line with its order; count two item lines |
| S102: paid; fulfillment pending | Route fulfillment question; do not claim shipment |
| S103: one line fulfilled and one pending | Show partial line-level state rather than a blanket completed order |
A blank continuation field is not necessarily an incomplete order. The worked output should preserve each SKU and its quantity while grouping the order correctly. S103 needs a staff check on the remaining line, not a second copy of the entire order.
A complete first-run brief
Use an approved Shopify order CSV for October 12–16, 2026. Fields: order ID, order name, line-item SKU, line-item quantity, financial status, fulfillment status, line-item fulfillment status, created time. At Monday 9 AM America/Los_Angeles, prepare a order-line fulfillment exception list as source-linked Markdown in my private review thread. Preserve record identities and the extract timestamp. Group unresolved items by next action and responsible owner. Reviewer: store fulfillment lead. Do not fulfill orders, change inventory, issue refunds, alter addresses, or send customer messages. Result check: Compare distinct order count and item quantities with the exported slice; inspect every partial-fulfillment flag.
A permitted preparation step does not authorize a consequential write or an external send. Resolve proposed changes through the app's supported process after the responsible owner approves their exact scope.
Reconcile before widening the task
A transaction-history export is a different input from the full order CSV. Confirm the selected export type before asking for item details. Also keep historical order data separate from current product information; a later catalog change does not rewrite the original purchase.
Use the list at one fulfillment desk handoff. Have the operator open the flagged order records and record which pending items still need action. Repeat only with a fresh export and the same grouping rules before adding customer-facing drafts.
For the first acceptance review, keep the original input slice beside the result and mark which items were checked. If access or evidence is incomplete, return that gap with its record identity rather than a confident completion statement. Review Pricing using the actual preparation workload and correction effort.
